Black Cohosh (Actaea racemosa) Herbal Extract. Native Americans used black cohosh to treat gynecological and other disorders, including sore throats, kidney problems, and depression. FMidwives have long used Black Cohosh to increase labor contractions. It is has been studied for arthritis and is effective for the symptoms of premenstrual tension, menopause. Recent meta-analysis of contemporary evidence supports these claims.
